a prayer
Lord, open unto me.
Open unto me - light for my darkness.
Open unto me - courage for my fear.
Open unto me - hope for my despair.
Open unto me - peace for my turmoil.
Open unto me - joy for my sorrow.
Open unto me - strength for my weakness.
Open unto me - wisdom for my confusion.
Open unto me - forgiveness for my sins.
Open unto me - love for my hates.
Open unto me - thy Self for my self.
Lord, Lord, open unto me! Amen.

presents and a squirrel
I've been receiving gifts regularly over the past few days at home. Little clips and pins, a pen with a purple feather cap, jewels from a little sister's treasure trove. Their drawings and paintings are definitely going up on my room wall, if I do eventually get a room, because I'll surely miss everyone so. There's still so much to do, write, buy, people to talk to and meet up with, and things to squeeze into my suitcase, and into my stomach, before sunday comes!
A funny thing happened! Just as I was typing, mummy returned home from morning taichi, and screamed- a squirrel was in our living room. It's all my fault for forgetting to close the sliding doors before coming upstairs, but at least it wasn't a wild monkey like the other time. Oh, apparently now that squirrel has scrambled out the balcony onto the roof, and has left behind its poo.
the foolishness of worry
All that worrying and tossing and turning in bed has once again all been for nothing! Because the Lord truly provides, and it's a lesson I've learnt over and over again, but always forget too quickly. Not only has my visa application been accepted without the college's letter, I no longer fear joining the homeless on the streets of London because a friend has offered to put me in touch with his sister who has an apartment there, and my father will help me get in touch with someone else. I'm bursting with thankfulness!
